Privacy policy

Effective 3 October 2026. Published by Nelson Moncayo, Queensland, Australia.

Pericope does not collect any personal information. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

This policy covers the Pericope app for iPhone and this website. The app’s privacy manifest declares no collected data and no tracking.

What stays on your iPhone

Pericope keeps these things on your iPhone, inside the app.

We cannot see any of it. Reset progress, in the app’s Settings, clears your saved studies, your Later list, your notes and the record of the studies you have opened. Deleting the app removes everything it keeps on your iPhone.

iCloud sync

iCloud sync is off unless you turn it on in the app’s Settings. When it is on, your saved studies, your Later list, your notes and the dates listed above are also kept in the private database of your own iCloud account, through Apple’s CloudKit, so they can be available on your other devices. Your settings are not synced.

We cannot read the data in your private iCloud database. Apple’s privacy policy covers it.

You can turn sync off in the app’s Settings at any time. To delete the copy in iCloud, delete Pericope’s data from the iCloud storage settings on your iPhone.

Daily reminder

If you turn on the daily reminder, iOS schedules it on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to us.

Corrected studies

When you open Pericope, it asks this website whether any study has been corrected, and downloads the corrected study if there is one. The request carries no account, no identifier and nothing about you or how you use the app. Like any request on the internet, it reaches our host with your device’s IP address, which the host’s server logs record as described below.

Sharing

When you share a section of a study as an image, Pericope hands the image to the iOS share sheet. We do not see what you share or with whom.

This website

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Its pages load nothing from any other website. Our host, Vercel, records standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to run and protect the service. Vercel’s privacy notice covers those logs.

Children

Because Pericope collects nothing, it collects nothing from children either.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
